Hair discoloration caused by iron?
I have been taking vitamins for the past year or so to help my hair grow in after a bad episode with hair extensions. I am currently taking a multivitamin, 2500 mcg of biotin, and 2-3 flaxseed oil caplets daily. I have been noticing metallic, bry colored strands of hair. I did some research on the internet and found that discoloration of hair can be caused by iron. The multivitamin I have been taking has 16 mg of Iron, and I used to take it twice a day. When I first halted my use and continued to take only the biotin and flaxseed oil, I found that my skin was breaking out. I have heard that if Biotin is not taken in conjunction with other vitamins, this can occur. Anyway, I have considered seeking another multivitamin without iron, or dropping all of the vitamins together, except for flaxseed oil. I was wondering if hair discoloration can be reversed. I understand that I can dye this hair, but I do not want to do anymore damage. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
