Fridge freezer not freezing or cooling?

My beko fridge freezer has stopped cooling in the fridge and the freezer has defrosted. It was running fine and then i noticed it was making a clicking sound then sounding like it was working then clicking and stopping again. at this point my food was still frozen so i though all was ok until the next day when i noticed it had defrosted. I have looked online and it sounds like it needs reging however some things i've read have mentioned the compressor. i work hard to earn money but do not have the spare cash to buy a new one really.
