Are M.D.'s scientists?

I'd think of mds as scientists. A scientist is anyone who makes an observation, asks a question and tries to find an answer to that question through tests and experiments. When you see a doctor, they observe your symptoms, ask themselves what is causing it and run a series of tests to rule out possibilities and ultimately find an answer.
