Dating sites - would like the opinion of (intelligent and serious) men...?

I think you need to find a middle of the road solution. With that, I mean you need to post a profile on a dating site that DOES NOT CHARGE to be on it. This way you will be more inclined to stay around a little longer. One good site for this would be www.plentyoffish.com. They have settings you may select to keep certain guys, ones that are not your type and do nothing but ask trashy requests, from being able to contact you. This site gives you the opportunity to use a setting that makes the person sending mail to you have to have a picture and meet certain other requirements like live a certain distance away from you as well as other helpful qualifiers. Now, I will say this about this particular site, people come and people go so the longer you leave it up the more likely you will stumble across the right guy or guys worthy of dating. I know of several lady friends who have used this site and have been rather pleased with their results. Good luck!
